Pageninetynine
Started in 1997, Pageninetynine is a band from Sterling, Virginia who redefined what "punk rock" could mean and be, touring relentlessly and releasing a plethora of albums, splits, singles and more... all from a venerable squad of miscreants on the outskirts of the nation's capital. With a plethora of releases only rivaled by their staggering eight (sometimes nine) member status, Pg.99 managed to amalgamate almost every heavy-music genre into a tornado of punk rock fury. Not punk in a mohawk-mania sense, but with the unbridled raw spirit of youthful rebellion and passion.
Following a series of reunions in 2011, 2017 and 2019, Pageninetynine has remained active, playing select shows and festivals in 2023 and 2024. They recently reissued their iconic Document #8 LP and Singles Collection LP on Virginia-based label Persistent Vision in August 2023.
Soastasphrenas
A noisy emoviolence/screamo (sad & violent noise) band based in Berlin. The four-piece band formed in early 2022, and consists of members from Cyprus and the US: Mark, Chris, Alex and Nate. Σώας τας φρένας (soas tas phrenas) is an old, 18th-century Greek phrase that generally describes someone as being “of sound mind”- or to be mentally healthy.
Known for their energetic live shows and DIY ethos, soastasphrenas have been playing shows all over Europe & Germany- sometimes even hauling gear on trains to make shows happen. They got to share a stage with bigger names in the scene, such as Jeromes Dream, Nuvolascura, Massa Nera, World Peace, Chalk Hands, Republic of Dreams and Tenue, among others.
Only
In early 2022, the band began writing material that would form the core of their debut EP, eventually released as a limited-edition cassette through Shove Records under the title "I." In 2023, they embarked on a tour through Germany, Italy, and the Czech Republic, captivating new audiences and sharing the stage with bands like Jeromes Dream, Raein, Stormo, Shizune, Ojne, and others.
In 2024, they released a split EP with the Swedish band Barabbas, Du Fortappade, while performing across Germany and other parts of Europe. The band is now working on their first full-length album, set to release in 2025.
